Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former. - Albert Einstein

Humans are amazing. We have what often seems to be unlimited capacity for creativity, ingenuity, understanding, caring, and blinding flashes of brilliance (see the man quoted above.) The unfortunate reality being the flip side of that coin is an equivalent ability to fear, hate, fight, and kill. It’s not pretty, but it is sort of necessary. Call it yin and yang, balance, whatever you like, it can be rationalized. What plays on and between both of these aspects of people and is not so easy (for us, anyway) to accept is rampant, teeming, unadulterated, unchecked stupidity.

We’re not big on stereotypes or blanket statements, so we’re going to attempt to keep bias and sweeping generalizations out of this. What we are going to do is highlight specific instances of bad decision making, either by individuals or groups. Ideally, this will help keep others from making similar boneheaded moves and perhaps even inspire the original perpetrators to change their silly, silly ways. This is for the good of humanity.

However, we’re not promising to play nice.
